You should now have a good sense for how to build any online course and a feel for how well any given course will fit into the online environment. You know of a few tools you can use to deliver online course content, and you also know that the various digital tools evolve, morph, and disappear every day while new ones emerge. But you won't be shaken by the constant change in the digital world because your courses will have a solid foundation in the principles of good online instruction. You understand that online education is not about the glitter and flash of the latest gadgets; it's about using the tools that help students access their education and meet their learning goals. In any online course, the digital glitter should fade into the background while student learning comes to the front.
You've got your course, or at least a solid start and a reliable foundation for building the rest of it. How do you know it's good, and how do you keep it that way over time? It's up to you to constantly self-evaluate your own course, and occasionally, you can turn to your online teaching peers for input.
